POSITION: Of Counsel

Lory Diana Rosenberg is Of Counsel to Paparelli & Partners LLP, bringing her extensive immigration law experience and national reputation as a writer, litigator and teacher to the firm. Her work with the firm focuses on legal analysis, strategy-setting, and practice in matters involving asylum, removal defense, immigration consequences of crime, waivers and relief from removal, appeals, and federal court litigation. Ms. Rosenberg frequently consults with other counsel and serves as an expert witness in the areas of her expertise.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: Ms. Rosenberg received her B.F.A. from New York University and her J.D. degree from Northeastern University School of Law in 1976. She was appointed by Attorney General Janet Reno to serve as a judge on the United States Board of Immigration Appeals (1995-2002), where she ruled on more than 17,000 appeals from the decisions of Immigration Judges. In 2002, Ms. Rosenberg left the Board to work with criminal defense counsel as the Director of the Defending Immigrants Partnership at the National Legal Aid and Defender Association. Ms. Rosenberg taught Immigration Law and Litigation, and Refugee and Asylum Law as an Adjunct Professor at Washington College of Law, American University (1997-2004). She mentored dozens of immigration attorneys and brought class action litigation as Director of the Legal Action Center at the American Immigration Law Foundation (1991-1995), and directly represented individual immigrant and refugee clients in the private practice, legal services, and community center pro bono program contexts between 1977 and 1991.
